A Good Day

Well I just had an awsome day! So let me start at the beginning ...

This morning I get up and wake up Shawn so we can go to the Only U Cafe for some breakfast. Just before we head out I run into a new resident, Lindsay (I hope I got that spelling right). She lives across the hall from me to the left (Olen's old room for you vetran SJC (ex)residents). I invited her to come along for breakfast, and Shawn and I showed here about the campus on the way. While we were on it we discovered that there finally is a Tim Horten's on the UBC campus, andit's on the way to the Physics department (score!). Anyway we met Amber at the Only U and had a fun breakfast.

After that Amber and I hopped onto the 99, she was heading to Future show to pick up the first season of the muppets while I was off to meet my friend Wes. He is one of my best friends way back from Charles P. Allen High School in Halifax (well Bedford if you want to be precise). We spend most of the day tripping around Vancouver, I showed him some good places for bikes, outdoor gear, we looked at office furniture and finally went for a tour of Vancouver 'downtown' as well as the World Trade and Convention Center (where we not only plotted to commandeer a cruise ship but also met Mati who was shwing two new SJC residents around Vancouver) as well as Gastown. We finished off with a stop by Drexoll Games, a great board gameing store out here.

Anyway after that we played a bit of WC3 and then reconvened with Shawn to get some food and headed (where we met up with Amber, Brian, Sarah, and Carly) to the SUB to whatch Madagascar. That movie was a lot of fun, and if you are around the UBC campus I suggest you head to the sub on Sunday evening and watch it there (7pm showing). Afterward we headed to the SUB arcade since Carly had challenged me to a game of DDR the night before (we had been playing Settlers Of Catan and also whatched The 39 Steps, an excellent Alfred Hitchcock movie). Anyway she proceeded to pwn me at DDR, of which I cannot admit I am all to ashamed, but as a true gamer this meens I must train at DDR ... *shudders*

We did not have enough people for a good LAN game at the arcade so Shawn and I showed Wes and Carly to the bus stop and send him under way with Carly, who was going the same way for a short bit. Then Shawn and I headed back to SJC, discussing what to do next on our way. We finally reolved to watch Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle and have some rum and coke. That hit the spot nearly as well as those burgers did for Harold and Kumar in the movie (btw. when I was at Carly's yesterday I picked up your copy of Harold and Kumar Erwin ... next time you are over for dinner, tomorrow I persume, you should come by and pick it up).

In conclusion, that was a really good day. I hope all of you have an equally good one ... and please forget the spelling errors I am sure are prevalent throughout this entry since I am still slightly drunk from all that good Appelton Estates (thanks Shawn :)
